Periodic Landscape

Generative Design Research, 2009.

The ‘periodic Landscapes’ research delineates the algorithmic paths taken in the articulation of novel systematic terrains.

Harnessed by performative constraints and through algorithmic filters,  Rhythmic cycles and vectorial magnitudes are used methodically as matter itself.

Brought forward through logics of Frequency, time phasing, propagation and periodic fading, the Algorithmic logic is translated into highly specific digital meshes with incorporated phase changes and controlled levels of specificity.

While the various digital tests point at possible programmatic or even structural applications, another aspect defined here is the ability to translate periodic differentiation at the material scale, through digital fabrication methods and with emphasis on matter thickness, controlled translucency and flexibility.
