'Woven Concrete' Installation

'WOVEN CONCRETE' was the winning proposal of the 'Geometric Generation Competition' at the AA-DRL, examining new structural and visual potentials for Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete products (Rieder's Fiber-C).
The weaving together of panels, their stacking method and the multiplicity of connection points, all serve the goal of creating a structure which is simultaneously fragile, light and yet structural.
The 'woven concrete' proposal plays with our views of concrete as a heavy modernistic material and opens up the possibility for a lighter and more transparent utilisation of concrete in the current architectural culture.
